I’ve just spotted this adorable Teepee play tent at Hobbycraft.

Although the image is shown as decorated, the canvas teepee comes to you in plain white for you to design and decorate as you wish.  Also contained in the kit is five wooden poles and canvas rope to complete the effect, and the finished teepee measures around 140cm tall (and around 120cm diameter).

Let the imagination run wild with decoration – the teepee can be decorated with pens, glitter, fabric and just anything (within reason!) to create a truly bespoke den.

For balmy summer days (although may need to wait until 2017 for some of those now!), it would look beautiful in the garden with colourful bunting and a chunky felt pompom chain. Finish it off with a fluffy faux sheepskin rug, and you may even find me hiding out there.

Children could also decorate in authentic wild west fashion to make a great backdrop for cowboy role play, or a castle for knights and princesses or a rocket for space adventures……

It could make a delightful advent present and converted into a very sweet little Christmas grotto, decorated with gingerbread men and candy canes. Adorable.

Given it’s versatility, it will apply to a wide range of ages and would even be a great role play resource for schools.

Priced at £35, I think it’s a bit of a bargain too, and will certainly be adding a few to my Christmas shopping list for godchildren and friends.
