Blog written by our guest blogger, Oscar, aged 10.

There are many new Lego sets heading our way in the next couple of months. Ranging from Star Wars 8: Rogue One movie kits through to a new series of Mixels –  lots of fabulous new sets will be launching and filling up toy stores throughout the autumn and into 2017.

Some of the exciting developments include New Dimension packs (including Sonic the Hedgehog),  Lego Batman Movie sets, (even more, but there can never be enough!) Marvel sets, Mighty Micros, an Adventure Time set (linked to the Cartoon Network TV programme), a Disney Castle and a Minecraft village.

On my MOST WANTED list are:

  1. More Mixels! The crazy characters are back with series 9 already. The three new tribes will be – The Newzers (based on news reporters) – Screeno, Camsta & Myke;  the Trashoz (cleaners) – Gobbol, Sweepz & Compaz; and last but not least, the Nindjas (yep, you’ve guessed it, Ninjas!) – Cobrax, Spinza & Mysto.  For those fellow avid collectors out there – Camsta, Gobbol & Cobrax all come with the cheeky little creatures… Nixels.
  2. .Six new Mighty Micro sets (3 Marvel, 3 DC) will be coming to stores in January 2017:-  Batman-v-Killer Moth, Wonder Woman-v-Doomsday, Superman-v-Bizarro, Wolverine-v-Magneto, Ironman-v-Thanos and Spiderman-v-Scorpion.
  3. New Lego Dimensions are on their way, with many new themes never seen before in Lego what-so-ever. Ranging from Sonic the Hedgehog to Mission:Impossible, new packs will be launching every couple of months as from this month. Some of my other favourites that will be hitting the shelves include:- The A-Team, Beetlejuice, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Ghostbusters, The Goonies, Gremlins, Knight Rider, Harry Potter, The Lego Batman Movie, Lego City Undercover and absolute top of my Dimensions list:- Teen Titans Go!
  4. The new Marvel set, Hulk verse Red Hulk, would be a great addition to any Super Hero Lego fan’s Lego city. It also comes with She-Hulk and She-Red Hulk. Released in January 2017.
  5. And finally, the set that I am so looking forward to (and the film), is …. drum roll please ….The Lego Batman Movie. Two sets have been revealed so far and the one that has to be my favourite is definitely The Joker’s Limo with Harley Quinn on roller skates, Batgirl’s yellow batarang, the Joker’s hair piece and of course, the golden chicken on the front of the Joker’s Limo (and who could not love the zebra car seats!).

Thank you to Lego for the use of their image.
