Tomorrow night sees the opportunity to revisit last year’s 500 Words Friday Night is Music Night on Radio 2 (8pm).

Originally aired in May last year following 2016’s 500 Words final, it’s being broadcast again to support the launch of this year’s short story writing competition.

The concert will hear how some of world’s greatest composers have translated many of our favourite children’s adventure tales into fabulous music scores.  Among other pieces, the BBC  Concert Orchestra will perform music inspired by Harry Potter, James Bond, The Hobbit, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Tin Tin, Superman and Batman.  Dick and Dom host.

During the interval there’s another chance to hear the winning stories from the 2016 500 words competition.

This year’s 500 Words competition is now open for entries – and all stories must be received by Thursday 23rd February.
